As a millennial I can say this article is spot on. I have traveled all over the world, but only once have I booked through a travel retailer. I have a separate saving account dedicated to travelling. Most of my holidays are spent abroad in a new country or city – why visit the same place twice… I have also signed up to plenty of loyalty programmes over the years but I never become loyal as price and convenience is more important to me. The closest I have come to be a loyal customer is with Norwegian Air, but this is purely because they have free WiFi on their flights…
More than three quarters of UK millennials are dedicated travellers, prioritising travel above any other expense, but are savvy bargain hunters with a penchant for luxuries. They are more likely to book through intermediaries and are less likely to be in loyalty programmes as they currently exist. The research shows that 92% love to travel to new places and the majority agree that travel involves new experiences and going off the beaten track.
