“Why do you want this job?” In theory an easy answer! I want a job... I want to pay the mortgage…. I want a promotion… I got made redundant… I’m bored… I like the sound of it… The difficulty with these answers is they may be true and explain why you have applied for the job but they do not tell the interviewer why it should be you. 4 key steps to selling yourself into that job: Step 1: Tell them why you think they are a good company. Step 2: Describe the challenges of the role. Step 3: Tell them what interests you, what you have been doing, the challenges you enjoy and give examples. Step 4: Think about why they might not want to hire you and refute their logic.
